On February 15, 2026, second-year students majoring in Foreign Philology at the Faculty of Philology of Farabi Kazakh National University held an advisory session on the topic “Prevention of Offenses and Issues of Responsibility.” The event was organized within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals aimed at building a just and safe society.
In the context of rapid social change, issues of legal culture and personal responsibility are becoming increasingly relevant. For this reason, the students’ initiative was focused not only on discussing the theoretical aspects of offenses but also on developing a practical understanding of their consequences.
During the thematic meeting, participants examined the main types of offenses, analyzed their underlying causes, and discussed the social consequences of unlawful behavior. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of youth as active members of society capable of influencing the level of law and order and contributing to the development of a sound legal environment.
“Legal culture begins not with punishment, but with an understanding of boundaries and respect for others,” the participants noted, highlighting the importance of self-discipline and conscious decision-making in everyday life.
A significant part of the discussion was devoted to compliance with the law and the personal responsibility of every citizen. The students reached a common conclusion: respect for the rights and freedoms of others is an essential component of a mature civil society. In this regard, legal literacy plays a crucial role, directly affecting an individual’s ability to make informed decisions and avoid unlawful actions.
The practical orientation of the event was reflected in the analysis of real-life situations and examples from public practice. Participants actively discussed how the development of legal awareness, increased legal literacy, and the formation of an active civic position can contribute to reducing the level of offenses among young people.
As a result of the meeting, students prepared short presentations and informational materials of an educational nature aimed at promoting legal knowledge. This format not only helped consolidate the acquired information but also contributed to the development of public speaking and argumentation skills.
The event became an important step in fostering a sense of responsibility among students for their own actions, developing legal thinking, and raising awareness of the importance of complying with the law. Participants emphasized that the prevention of offenses begins with simple yet fundamental principles—respect for the law, self-discipline, and conscious behavior.
Farabi Kazakh National University continues to actively support initiatives aimed at developing legal culture and civic responsibility among students, creating favorable conditions for educational and awareness-raising activities.
Thus, the advisory session served not only as a platform for exchanging ideas but also as a meaningful contribution to strengthening the legal awareness of student youth, laying the foundations for responsible and conscious behavior in modern society.
